How Do I Know My Car Insurance Policy Number?

In India, car insurance is mandatory for all vehicles. You can find your policy number on the back of your insurance card or the top left corner of your policy document. To find out if you have a policy number, you can take a look at your car insurance card. If there is no card, follow the below steps to know your car insurance policy number:-

• Contact the insurance company that you’re previously insured with or log in to your account entering the policy number or email address and download the policy.
• Visit the website of the RTO where your car is registered and fill up the registration number of your car in the given section and click “proceed” to find the policy details.
• Visit the website of the State Transport Department and enter the registration number of your car to get the car insurance plan details.
• Visit the website of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, i.e., mParivahan, and fill up your car’s registration number to receive the complete details of your insurance plan.
• Visit the website of the Insurance Information Bureau, which is framed by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), and enter the registration number of your car to check the details of your car insurance cover.
